The Editorial Board Advisory Committee advises on editorial matters and advertising content decisions that require medical expertise, and may make suggestions and recommendations, but is not involved in day-to-day editorial decisions and is not responsible for the final editorial decision on any recommendation.
Physicians interested in a position on the Editorial Board Advisory Committee must be:
- A member of Doctors Nova Scotia
- Up-to-date on current clinical practice
- An avid magazine reader with interest in publishing
- Capable of engaging in respectful debate resulting in consensus
- Willing to commit to a two- or three-year term
Experience in newspaper or magazine editing or publishing is not required but is considered an asset.
Time commitment
- Serving on the Editorial Board Advisory Committee involves:
- Review of meeting materials
- Additional correspondence by email as required
