Doctors Nova Scotia (DNS) stands in solidarity in the fight against anti-Black racism, violence and injustice toward people of African descent in the U.S. and across the world.

Family doctors are asking their patients to roll up their sleeve to receive a flu shot. This year, it’s even more important to be vaccinated against the influenza virus and its complications.
One of the most powerful messages we hear repeatedly during the COVID-19 pandemic is the notion of being kind to one another.

It has been a very long 15 months as we all live through a once-in-a-lifetime public health crisis.

Twenty Nova Scotians who have inspired others, raised spirits or helped people cope during the COVID-19 pandemic have been chosen to receive the Dr. Robert Strang Community Hero Award. A committee chose the 20 winners from 179 outstanding applications.

The recent discovery of the mass grave of 215 children in Kamloops is a tragic example of present-day Canada, not a reminder of Canada’s history. We grieve with the residential school survivors and their relations on Turtle Island.

Dr. Leisha Hawker, of Halifax, N.S., was installed as Doctors Nova Scotia’s President during the association’s virtual annual conference on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Dr. Colin Audain, of Halifax, N.S., was installed as Doctors Nova Scotia’s President for 2023–24 during the association’s annual conference on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Doctors Nova Scotia has reached tentative agreements with the Department of Health and Wellness on new four-year contracts for the province’s doctors. The contracts were presented to Nova Scotia’s physicians for ratification today.

Nova Scotia’s doctors have accepted two new four-year agreements with the provincial government.

May 1st is Doctors Day in Nova Scotia, a time to recognize our province’s dedicated physicians and medical learners.

Dr. Gehad Gobran of Bedford, N.S., was installed as Doctors Nova Scotia’s President for 2024–25 during the association’s annual conference on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
