Joining a committee or a board is an excellent way to contribute to the work of the association, gain valuable leadership experience, and help shape the province’s health-care system. Committee and board vacancies are advertised in doctorsNS magazine and in the Doctors Nova Scotia e-newsletter.
If you’re a Doctors Nova Scotia (DNS) member who’s interested in joining a committee or a board, review the relevant terms of reference, the Guidelines for Nominations and Elections, then submit an expression of interest indicating the position or positions you are interested in filling.
Expressions of interest are welcome at any time and are kept on file for two years. When vacancies arise, the committee with the vacancy reviews the expressions of interest and recommends a candidate(s) to the Board of Directors for consideration and approval. In the case of selecting Board appointments for the Board of Directors, the association’s Nominating Committee will review the applications and make the recommendation.
If your expression of interest is considered for a committee vacancy, you will be notified by email. All applicants under consideration will be notified once a selection has been made and approved by the Board of Directors.
